Almost Human's vision of Vancouver in 2048

Filmed in Vancouver, Almost Human did not fail to impress and it provided a glimpse to our city’s ‘future’ in 2048. However, unlike Canadian-produced Continuum, which is also set in Vancouver but in the year 2077, the storyline of Abrams’ new futuristic show is set in Los Angeles.

Almost Human stars New Zealand actor Karl Urban who is best known for playing Eomer in the second and third films of Peter Jackson’s The Lord of The Rings and Dr. Leonard “Bones” McCoy in Abrams’ recent Star Trek films.

This will be J.J. Abrams’ third television series produced in Vancouver. The renowned director is known to have an affinity for producing his shows in Vancouver, which has previously included Fringe (with Vancouver playing New York and Boston) as well as Alcatraz (with Vancouver playing San Francisco).
